The handy thing about a Martian flag is that you don't have to come up with a daffy nation of origin like "Batmania." It's a Martian flag, see? From Mars.

  1. I love how simple and unusual the "Martian flag" is. It could almost be an actual flag. Some small, unknown peaceful little country like Luxembourg or something.

  2. So have we identified all of these characters yet? With the color changed, the flag beneath He-Man's is now clearly Black Vulcan. But what about the CH heart under Gambit, the shield under Robin and the X-character under TMNT? I'm going to be mad if that turns out to be Jean Grey/Phoenix, because white is not her most iconic color scheme.

  3. I dont know if it bugs anyone else but I hate when MM gets the straps for his logo. I still see his logo as the pie slices. I mean Superman still has his logo in his flag along with his notable colors and so does green lantern but why not MM.

  4. James, I hear you. In think Doug Mahnke helped get that started in his first JLA issue when J'Onn mediated as a ball. It's okay, but better as a one-off than a standard. I prefer the straps to that Man Symbol with Mars in the circle they tried for a bit, but I'm all about the pie.
