"Done for The Line: it is Drawn. The prompt was comic book characters meeting or crossed with famous musicians. How could I pass up the opportunity to do something Bowie-Inspired?
Thanks for the suggestion, Sean.

Aside from the enormous signature, I like the design here-- like an art book cover of tour photos.
I'm not familiar enough with bowie to know if the Dominator dot is a reference. Pretty cool, but I prefer LBFA's take...

I love Bowie. This is an awesome idea. Is there a site with more of those rockstar-superhero amalgams? Is Batman Gene Simmons or Ozzy? Superman has to be Elvis!
ReplyDeleteM.C., the Dominators predate Ziggy Stardust, but I'm not sure if their dots do. As for links, ahem. The lightning bolt is specific to the album "Aladdin Sane," where the dot traveled with Ziggy for much of his run.
ReplyDeleteRafa, CBR's "The Line is Drawn" does this sort of thing often, but rarely so well...
I like this Bowie-as-J'onn better than Irizarri's other take on J'onn's costume. It's nice to see an artist with an interest in him, though.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget: he changed his name to Bowie because he didn't want to be confused with the Monkees' Davy JONES.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, I was going to mention that he rather looks like Aladdin Sane.
