  2. Eek! I accidentally deleted Tiger OA1's comment whole trying to reply. I'm so sorry! The gist of it was that Gorilla Grodd was also more dangerous than the average gorilla, earned his place in the Legion of Doom, and his fierceness was perfectly captured by the artist.

For the record, I agree, and Grodd's stature is one of the reasons I approve of attempts (mostly by Alex Ross) to retroactively connect Grodd to J'Onn J'Onzz. I'll continue to pretend that the Martian Manhunter was in the Super Friends under the assumed identity of "El Dorado."

  3. I've been looking at J'Onn in Justice League America. I like what Geoff is doing but I can't seem to see where he's going with him or what direction the team is going in. What do think?

  4. My first instinct was to chime in with the correction that after "Trinity War," Johns wouldn't even be writing the character anymore (at least until sometime in 2014.) I haven't read any issues from the crossover yet, but I assume the big bad promised in JL #7 or so hasn't come up again? Neither Matt Kindt nor Jeff Lemire appear to be writing a solo series, and it seems like creators had a short leash with the character before he was written out of Stormwatch. Reduced visibility seems to have only increased fan demand in recent years, yet there hasn't been a Martian Manhunter ongoing in a decade and only one mini-series in the meantime. Johns has been involved in most every major development with the character since Infinite Crisis, and appears to be shepherding him. It reminds me of how fans clamored for an Aquaman revival, and Dan Didio used something like "only if we can get it right next time" as code for "when Geoff Johns gets around to it." I suspect the same answer applies here. J'Onn and/or Wonder Woman are likely on the long term to-do list, but don't hold your breath in the meantime. But hey, Booster Gold's getting another shot, right? yipee.
