Martian Manhunter
JUSTICE LEAGUE UNITED #8Given their druthers on this book, artists seem to spotlight Adam Strange. But hey, we'll get ours when that slew of MARTIAN MANHUNTER 60 Variant covers roll out. That should start any minute now. Any... minute... now...

The penultimate chapter of “The Infinitus Saga” is here as the fate of the future is decided in a battle between Justice League United and the Legion of Super-Heroes!
JUSTICE LEAGUE #38I'd have to be a humorless stick in the mud to point out that J'onn J'onzz is the only hero obscured by the Flash on the variant cover. Who else though, y'know?

The Amazo Virus infects the last Leaguer standing: Batman!
JUSTICE LEAGUE UNITED VOL. 1: JUSTICE LEAGUE CANADA HCI bought and read the two Futures End issues, working under the assumption they wouldn't be collected in a normal fashion like this. Egg on my face. On the other hand, I bought the books based on fraudulent solicitation copy, so it wasn't entirely my fault I got stuck with these duds, unless you want to point out that I should have known better by now. Anyway, they weren't very good, and I'm now disinclined toward buying this trade, so maybe I'll save money in the long run.

SCRIBBLENAUTS UNMASKED: A DC COMICS ADVENTURE TPI didn't bother listing the individual issues, but I'm sure J'Onn J'Onzz is in there somewhere, right? Right? Actually, he wasn't listed on any of the breakdowns at Comic Vine, so maybe not...

J'Onn is getting some appearances, but he is not being used all that effectively. I don't think that the DC editors and writers "get" many of their characters. It is a shame as there are a lot of good stories not being told.
ReplyDeleteWell, he's got that Aquaman guest appearance coming up that may be interesting, but mostly he's been resigned to that guy on the Justice League B-team.
ReplyDeleteI've been hemming and hawing over buying JLU since it came out. It's good to hear your opinion on it. I'm definitely not buying the trade, especially at $25.
ReplyDeleteThat Flash 75 throwback cover features two Infantino heroes referencing a classic Adam Strange cover (and Strange is in his classic uniform, no less.) That + J'onn in the book is probably what's going to finally break my three-year DC no-buy. Then I won't buy anything else and wait for this trade to hit the library shelves.
J'onn is never going to be understood by anyone at DC. For me, I'm at a point where it's kind of hard to muster up any sort of emotion, positive or negative, for DC.
LissBirds, if J'Onn was a professional sports player, he would be looking to join another team. The owners of other teams would wonder why DC has not used him to his full potential. Sometimes, I am not sure if DC's management is more or less inept than those of some Chicago sports teams.
