New York Times Program Synopsis:
A special which pays tribute to The Manhunter from Mars, the least popular co-founder of the Justice League of America and one of the greatest hanger-on associates to pop culture heroes of all time. The special interweaves memorable moments from J'onn J'onzz's television series, cartoons and comics highlighting his super powers, secret identity, acts of heroism, and personal life. Also included are comically inept text-to-audio vignettes featuring unrecorded guest stars discussing the best super-hero ever of Middletown, U.S.A.

  1. Amazing job with the anniversary coverage, Frank! The amount of information and resources packed into this production is awesome!

There was so much here so it'll take me a little while to formulate all my thoughts, but the one thing I had to respond to right away was the David Goyer clip at the end of the episode. Holy shit! I've read excerpts and transcripts of that panel, so I knew what he said, but I don't remember ever hearing the whole thing. That was bizarre, and not just because of Goyer's comments. The other two guys that seemed to be guests or moderators came across as juvenile, ignorant fuckwads who sounded sorta/kinda starstruck maybe that they were so close to the writer of Batman Begins.

Everything about Goyer's comments made me want to scream, of course, but the two other guys? Them I wanted to poke in the eyeballs and say, "Compose yourselves, idiots, act like you're worthy of this much attention."

  2. Incredible podcast.

Like Ryan, there was so much to consume here that my mind is reeling a bit. The fact that you were able to get so many creators who have worked on J'Onn to answer questions and provide backstory is fantastic. And then adding in quotes from other creators really made this feel like a true anniversary special. I am truly amazed.

And is it me, or did you pronounce JM DeMatteis name differently each time? It is from you that I have learned that it should be thought of as J.M.D. Matisse.
