Maybe they should change the S to a C for Conceited Man.
Kal-El has at best the memories of a young child of Krypton. (I am not sure what he recalls in the new continuity. He knows that he has a cousin, Kara Zor-El. J'Onn saw his world and his family destroyed by either or both Commander Blanx and Malefic -- his own brother. Sorry, but Superman and Batman need to get behind J'Onn in the tragedy department. The few Martians J'Onn has met in any continuity after the destruction of his home have, with rare exceptions, not given him much faith in his own kind. Yet he is one of the few heroes who sees the potential of humanity to rise above its current state -- perhaps because he comes from a long lived, potentially immortal, race. He may well outlive most of his foes and his friends. Although SuperSchmuck here seems to be somewhere between the two poles.)

Superman is a bit of a douche.

Well, credit where due, Superman had the origin first. It just suits J'Onn J'Onzz much better.
