Vile Menagerie Stats
Win: 0
Lose: Bette Noir (3-14); Thantos (5-9)
Draw: 0

Maxima
Debut: 1989
Nemesis: Starbreaker
Other Major Foes: Superman, Brainiac
Appearances: 150+ comics, animation, and live action television.
Powers: Telepathy, flight, Optical Force-Beams, force fields, telekinesis, nigh-invulnerability, and superhuman strength/ physique/ senses/ reflexes/ endurance.

Maxima was the empress of the planet Almerac and its intergalactic empire when she chose Superman as her perfect mate. When the Man of Steel rejected her, violence ensued. Despite the blood shed in her name, Maxima became a reluctant heroine and member of Extreme Justice, where her advances on alternative sperm donors Captain Atom and Amazing Man never produced an heir. Starbreaker demolished Almerac, and Maxima herself perished in battle against Brainiac.

Vile Menagerie Stats:
Win: 0
Lose: 0

Idol Speculation:
On paper, Maxima is the clear winner, based on her years trying to force the sexy on Superman in a not-too-gentle fashion. However, her initial overwhelming power levels were dismissed as belonging to some sort of murderous simulacron, and her time on a lesser Justice League team needing help against chromium cornballs mangled her reputation. Meanwhile, D'Kay laid a serious telepathic mind____ on the Alien Atlas, then she held up as he battered her quite savagely for it. Quite the toss-up, then, though I will say Maxima's a lot more fun and a lot less aggravating.

I am going to go with Maxima for power, even if D'Kay is the more hateful figure and not very well realized. Maxima is someone who could become an ally after a misunderstanding. D'Kay is just plain psychotic.

With Bette Noir as one of the primary holdovers from the Ostrander/Mandrake series, Scorch's defining turn in the last year of Kelly/Mahnke JLA, Cay'an masterminding the One Year Later mini-series, D'Kay becoming the single most visible Martian Manhunter villain in comics through Brightest Day, and to a far lesser extent Salu the Daemonite jobbing J'Onn in the New 52, the Alien Atlas has achieved Daredevil-level domination of his rogues gallery by femme fatales in the past decade. Shame pretty much all of them are undercooked knock-offs who've gotten slaughter in match-ups this month. Coupled with Ma'alefa'ak's gender-bending in Justice League: Doom, I wonder if the "weakness" of the Manhunter as the (since removed) bottom rung of the Magnificent Seven JLA is being demonstrated through a patriarchal depiction of feminine adversity, where the rest of DC's big guns all have more masculine nemeses (exempting Wonder Woman, though a case could be made for Ares over Circe/Cheetah.)

Point being, yeah, Maxima smokes D'Kay by any reasonable measure, telepathy being D'Razz's only credible "Get Out Of An Ass-Kicking" card.

You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart...

I initially voted for Maxima, then canceled myself out with a vote for D'Kay on a different computer. Point being, I could have gone for thirds and restore my vote to force a stalemate, but I honestly do think Maxima would and should win.

Therefore, Maxima took D'Kay D'Razz by 54% of 13 recorded votes (or 55% of 11 votes if I'm disqualified, or most truthfully as far as I can tell, 58% of 12 votes, had I left well enough alone in the first place.)
