Another swell piece owned by Will K, who says of it:
2004 - What a thrill to see Mike again after more than 10 years !!!
Mike signed a bunch of pages that I acquired in the meantime.
And I managed to get this sketch. Could not come up with the characters. Mike suggested DC's Trinity of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. I decided to go with a different trinity that goes back to the backup feature he drew in Adventure Comics 449 - 451. Mike seemed to have a hard time with Hawkgirl's hair as he inked it trying to get some kind of "bird" look. She turned out great.

I think her hair is fabulous! I would like to see J'onn towering over the Hawks, though, but I'm just being too picky. They kind of look like they're ready for a night on the town instead of crime fighting.
I really like the facial expression here... Earnin' them swashbuckling boots!
It's them damned feathers. You'd have to have a hell of a lot of headroom to fit a taller J'Onn and those helmets on a page. From experience, it's hard enough just reining those helmets into proper perspective with each body. They want to get away from you every time!
Oh, and M.C., Katar's totally pissed about J'Onn's blatant ogling.
That's a terrific sketch, though they all seem a little "puffed up" in one manner or another.
You're right, m.c...J'onn looks like he has a little Captain in him.
Isn't Katar just pissed all the time? :)
Pisseder?
That is really slick!
You're right, he's totally telepathically propositioning her...she's all like "well, he is kind of a stick in the mud..."
Is it me, or is J'onn admiring Shayera's huge...tracts of land, and Katar has noticed?
Dayum! rob's not kidding about the... tracts of land!
