On September 1st, 2007, The Idol-Head of Diabolu, a blog for J'Onn J'Onzz, the Manhunter from Mars launched. I had no idea it was that close to Despero's birthday at the time, and given my history of seat-of-the-pants scheduling, I probably didn't even begin work the day before launching. For all I can recall, I may have decided to do the blog at seven o'clock and launched the thing before midnight. This should surprise no one who visits here regularly.
On Monday, June 16, 2008, the web comic/bloggers at Let's Be Friends Again posted a picture of "Curt dressed as Martian Manhunter riding a unicorn," and linked to my blog as reference to Martian Manhunter. I don't know who Curt is, but he's hairier than J'Onn.
On September 1st, 2010, I believe I bombed out on my first test as a full time student, and I also believe I'm going to have to reevaluate my priorities this year. I need a unicorn today. Look at the unicorn. It's a happy unicorn.
My new year of Idol-Head blogging's resolution is to denounce announced resolutions, take back any previous promises I've made, and play things by ear. I'll find time to do stuff everyone enjoys, like the villain countdowns, but there will probably be a lot of scanneration and linkypeux in between for the foreseeable future. I'll do my best to make up for this with more Martian Manhunters riding mythological beasts and/or circus hoaxes involving ponies and industrial adhesives. You might also try the comic strip by Curt Franklin and Chris Haley. I don't know which is which, but I've enjoyed their work in the past, and their taste in links is impeccable.

Well, Happy Anniversary...! Or is it Happy Martian New Year?
Visiting this blog is part of my nightly ritual. It just isn't a normal day without a visit and a comment to I-HoD.
I'm sorry to hear your first test didn't go so well. But you haven't gotten the grades yet, right? So hopefully it's not as bad as you thought. Plus it's just the first test of the year. Or maybe everyone did poorly and it'll be graded on a curve. That's the best I can do as far as pep talks go.
Just keep looking at the unicorn!
Frank, hopefully everything will be better on the next test. Just set your priorities, and know that many people appreciate what time you can give to this site.
Happy Anniversary! Oreos all around.
Thanks gang!
Liss, that's why I'm trying to be good about getting a post up at midnight these days. It makes me a little bit happier knowing that there's something new to see, and I always hated my "here's three b.s. CAF posts to catch up" throwaways. Plus, the result of getting something up daily sometimes surprises me. Stuff I always meant to talk about or forgot I'd never shown kind of go "hey! Pick me!" It's like interacting with other bloggers/stories/my past self, instead of working off a coolly calculated schedule.
