One day, I was searching the internet for images of Roh Kar. I must not be the only one doing that, because now I keep finding my own crumby recolored Showcase Presents scan swiped and reused on other sites without attribution. Ah well, it's a contribution to global knowledge of the Manhunter from Mars. Anyway, I was shocked to find a piece of actual Roh Kar fan art! Not only that, but the same artist had done a whole series on Martian Manhunter-related characters, and some wildly unrelated associations spun wholesale from the artist's mind.

"NightwingTAS" seems intent on expanding the DC Animated Universe, founded on the designs of Bruce Timm, encompassing Batman: TAS, Superman: TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League Unlimited, and parts previously unknown. Through his thread at the Super Buddies message board, NightwingTAS imagines a different world "One Year Later," that apparently skipped straight ahead to Brightest Day...
J'Onn came out of the Infinite Crisis with more questions than answers and the detective in him set out to find those answers.
It wasn't a bad design, harkening back to his more familiar look before the long night of red piping, but I think it was perhaps too simple and "safe" in retrospect. I like how N:TAS streamlined it a bit here, making the trunks a one-piece and thickening the straps into something more like a muscle shirt. It's like J'Onn's green flesh is erupting out of the suit.

Having gotten the obligatory hero post out of the way, let's take a weekly trip to N:TAS' design shop for more fanfic goodies...

It is a pretty good look for J'Onn, emphasizing his muscles.
