If Martian Manhunter were a more popular character, the basic premise first established in 1977 of J'Onn J'Onzz having arrived on Earth in a fixed period setting (the McCarthy Era specifically) could have served as fodder for the sort of countless Elseworlds revisions Superman and Batman enjoyed. "Martian by Gaslight." "Red Planet Son." That sort of thing. Actually, there really was an Alien Atlas in the Old West one, 1997's
Justice Riders.

Wow, that's one Elseworlds I have no memory of...I remember the WWII one that had J'onn in it, but not this one!
