1998 Unused Martian Manhunter Annual #1 art by Richard Pace

Here's a fun find I made while screwing around today. Richard Pace is a writer/artist best known for his work with Dale Keown on Pitt in the late '90s. He never did much work at DC, but you may remember the "Times Past" story he drew featuring the Will Payton Starman or his contribution to the Elseworlds mini-series Batman: The Doom that Came to Gotham. Apparently, his buddy Ty Templeton had another project in mind...
"Years back, a pal was writing a Martian Manhunter annual and asked if I'd be interested in drawing it - -didn't work out, but this was fun to draw."
This was clearly Martian Manhunter Annual #1, featuring J'Onn J'Onzz, General Washington, David Henman, and a very Diane Meade-like Karen Smith in her first appearance. As drawn by Ariel Olivetti, the annual was very distinctive in its look with an artist associated with the character in this period. This page has an entirely different vibe, but I like it a lot, especially the more conservative General. This also recalls Don Hillsman's art from JLA Secret Files & Origins, which is in no way a bad thing.
