Folks may be getting bored with the Despero pictures, but you've got to admit that he looks funny as a laborer working for the Big Boss Man. I moved this one up a day ahead of schedule because I've had a busy week offline and decided to swap "New 52's Day" for a long delayed 1980s cross-blog installment of the top cover countdowns for tomorrow...

I don't feel like Darkseid would shirk heavy lifting with a non-underling like Despero. Darkseid has always balanced despotism with rugged individualism. More Putin, less Gaddafi.
Darkseid is a lazysumbch. That's why he keeps all those parademons around, and of course he's arrogant enough to see Despero as being little better. I want to see the telepathic third eye redirect an Omega Beam, or at least force that craggy creep to pick up a shovel.
It looks like "the Darkseid and Despero sitcom show". Special guest star: Bob Newhart as Aquaman.
Why do I keep on hearing the song "Working for the Man" as I look at this picture? Darkseid is all about his own greater glory, so I doubt that he would dig while others are available.
Will, I was totally going to do a Roy Orbison joke in reply to MC, but ended up sidestepping it. Wavelengths!
