I like this, but all that red kind of throws me a bit. I'd still hang it on my wall, though. Maybe when I have money after I get done with school...

There's a Minimal Aquaman as well, so check it out.

Yeah, without the blue it loses something...

Still really cool.

My first impression was signs for the Ladies and Men's rooms on Mars.

Where is MM's town? Like how batman has Gotham. I always thought MM had middletown Colorado but while reading wikipedia it says he adopts the identity of John Jones, a detective in the fictional Apex City (later retconned as Chicago). Can you please help me with this?

If you can't afford a print or canvas, download and print this 8400x4186 ppi JPG and Paypal the artist $5 or $10 or whatever you can afford.

I like this much better than those ho-hum trading card paintings.

Good lord Tom, why do you have such an obscenely large JPG on hand?

I'm really bored with the trading card paintings, too. I posted all the good Martian Manhunter related ones last year, and I only liked about half of the Wonder Woman ones I ran. Not only did that crossover get out of hand, but it was mostly just filler while I diligently "banked" meatier posts for all my blogs before starting school again. Now that we've come out of the holiday doldrums, I need to improve my output here.

Anonymous, never trust Wikipedia. A blogger came up with "Apex City" as an internet meme two years ago, and its every mention makes me want to light something on fire.

John Jones was confirmed as having patrolled Middletown in 1963, a town most likely near Gotham City on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. Post-Crisis, the city became Middleton, CO, for no particularly good reason. You can read more about it here.

That JPG is not mine. It's posted to the artist's own Deviant Art account. You can find the link yourself if you do a little bit of hunting.
